Remote Management
The Ether-GSH8TW v2 features 8 Pure Gigabit Copper ports with auto MDI/MDI-X function to eliminate the need for cross-over cables.  It can achieve Gigabit speed with Standard Cat. 5 cable.  In addition to the 8 standard Gigabit ports; there is a dedicated 10/100Mbps Web management port that allow users to configure the switch through local LAN or over the Internet.  The management port is not influenced by the VLAN configuration.  If if you make a mistake in switch configuration that make the ports inaccessible.  You can quickly change the setting through the management port.

Tag Based VLAN
Unlike ordinary web management switch that has only rudimentary port settings function.   The Ether-GSH8TW v2 equipped with some very useful and advance management features.  Tag based VLAN allow administrators to configure VLAN groups across different switches.  Private VID function is supported to allow switches to write tag information into the packet.  So defining complex VLAN function across the entire network become much easier.  

Trunking, Broadcast Storm filter 
The broadcast storm filter prevents one single station flood the network with broadcast packet.  MAC based Trunking allow combining several ports to multiply the speed of one link.   The priority allow certain port or packet to have more priority than others.  The Static MAC address table function allow MIS to manually entering MAC address in a certain port.  Finally port mirror is provided to allow MIS to sniff the packet of each ports for diagnostic purpose.
